Description: I. Medium shot off the starboard bow of Royal Sovereign Class battleship at night as the ship's searchlight battery sweeps the water. Cambrian Class light cruiser (Calliope or Champion ?) is illuminated by a battery and by a single searchlight sweeping from the port bow to stern. Medium shot off the port bow of a Royal Sovereign Class battleship, its forepart illuminated by searchlights.II. Quarter deck of a battleship. Two midshipmen pass by, engrossed in conversation. Army officer walks towards the camera. Major, RA, wearing blues, sits on the guard rail, while his companion, a lieutenant, talks with one of the ship's officers, also a lieutenant.III. Medium long shot off port quarter of escorting Admiralty S Class (?) destroyer steaming at speed in choppy sea. Extreme long shot pan over distant line of battleships with escorting destroyers - the sky is stained with dense funnel smoke. High-angle medium shot onto the focsle of HMS Canada as spray breaks over the bows. Medium shot of Queen Elizabeth Class battleship in line ahead with guns trained over the port beam. Long shot of escorting Modified R Class (?) destroyer, and pan along the destroyer screen. High-angle medium shot to Canada's forward turrets, which train right. High-angle medium shot aft down the starboard side, framing 6-inch casements and searchlight tower on the second funnel - Q, X and Y turrets train over the beam - camera pans down to ship's boats stowed between the funnels. Sequence showing the after turrets firing by single barrels - crewmen move about on the searchlight tower in the foreground. Medium shot from the focsle as the starboard secondaries open fire. Medium shot from the quarter deck along the port side past X and Y turrets to range clock and 6-inch casements. Low-angle medium shot of main gunnery R/F, starboard semaphore and bridge structure. Break. Canada in anchorage - ratings pass camera as they are dismissed by divisions from the evening inspection on the quarter deck. A game of hockey is played on the quarter deck.
